The Jeep needs a little driving since it’s been sitting a bit and we need to check out the transmission. When she drove it last, something “boomed” really loud in the trans or rear end. (See that video here) So, we need to see what the dealio is.
It’s cold and when Jane goes to start it, well, it won’t start. The battery is getting weak too after just a few cranks. Not wanting the battery to die, I tell Jane not to be so aggressive and to feather it since she likes to be heavy footed. Unfortunately, the battery dies anyway…shit, we say almost in unison. lol
Ok, battery is changed and she tries it again and it starts. She lightly revs it to get it to warm up and smooth out. She films from her POV while I close the hood and gather up our stuff to leave. After a while of mildly revving it and moving it, it’s starting to sound better.
I hop in and we start to leave and almost immediately we can feel/hear this knocking/thudding. So I’m trying to get her to drive it in a specific way to see what’s happening. It ended up being the rear end going out and, $1800 later, it got fixed. :/
