Scenario
A cranking, rough revving, and stalling event that begins with discrete, smooth attempts to get the Monte to start and stay running.
Vivian is trying to take “us” to run an errand, but the Monte Carlo is being uncooperative. Initially, she tries to be discrete as she deals with the
stubborn car. As she becomes more frustrated with the car, her actions become more firm and assertive.
OPENING
Please open with her trying on all 3 pair of boots above. Have her model them briefly to illustrate fit. Catch her walking to the car and settling in.
CAMERA ANGLES
Primarily shot from passenger side. Mix in close ups of foot on pedal to emphasize subtle or dramatic actions.
EMPHASIS ITEMS:
Overall less dialogue – but appropriate profanity please. Initially, she is trying to be discrete and not make a scene:
• No pumping before, during or between the first couple of starts.
• She should press the pedal smoothly almost to the floor and hold it steady before & during cranking.
• After the first attempt or two, while cranking: interrupt the steady press with periods of gentle pumping.
• After the first couple of starts attempts I would really like to see her escalate her actions display amused frustration.
Please ask her to please consider including the following actions:
• Some brisk pumps between start attempts.
• Flooring with an intermittent brisk / firm pump or two please.
• When revving, if the car starts misfiring, have her put the gas on the floor to force a stall. Have her keep the pedal on the floor and hit the key again.
• I think its appropriate to quickly try to crank a car that almost starts or stalls. Please minimize time between cranks in these situations.
Thereafter, she should do whatever is necessary to get the car started and keep it running.
